Nancy Ostroff attended The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and taught art and worked as a stained glass artisan for many years. She then returned to her first love, fine arts.
She paints in oils, watercolor, pastels, acrylics and pen and ink. Her love of color is reflected in her landscapes, still lives and portraits which are painted in an impressionistic way. Light is always a crucial part of her paintings and can create mood, define forms and delineate planes. Cast shadows create drama and help to solidify the design. Nancy's subject matter is diverse coming from life around her and her experiences during her extensive travels. She is a signature member of the Baltimore Watercolor Society and the Md. Society of Portrait Painters and past president of the Annapolis Watercolor Club. She is also a member of the Mid Atlantic Plein Air Painters Association, the Maryland Federation of Arts (MFA) and the Patuxent Art League. She has exhibited in many galleries throughout the Annapolis and Baltimore area. She continues to exhibit at the Art Gallery of Fell's Point in Baltimore and Framed at the Lake in Virginia. She hopes you enjoy her paintings and that they make you feel part of her world. Nancy can be contacted at nansart@comcast.net or by calling 410-626-8822. |
